About this retreat

A Shanti-Som relaxation retreat is designed for one purpose: to give you permission to slow down. In a world that rewards constant doing, this programme creates the conditions for genuine rest — not just the absence of work, but the presence of deep calm.

Your days unfold at your own pace: morning yoga if you wish, indulgent spa treatments, long walks through nature, or simply reading by the pool. There is no schedule to keep, no goals to hit. Our team takes care of everything so you can focus on the one thing that matters — feeling like yourself again.

Why Choose a Relaxation Retreat

Not every wellness break needs a transformational agenda. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do for your health is simply stop. A Shanti-Som relaxation retreat is designed purely for restoration — no boot-camp schedules, no dietary restrictions, no performance targets. It is the wellness equivalent of a blank page: you decide what to fill it with, or nothing at all. Our carefully chosen locations, personalised spa programmes, and unhurried pace create the conditions for your nervous system to fully switch off.

What to Expect: Your Daily Programme

A relaxation retreat at Shanti-Som is intentionally unhurried. Mornings begin with optional gentle yoga or meditation — there are no mandatory wake-up calls. Breakfast is a leisurely affair of fresh fruit, artisan breads, and organic teas. Your personalised spa treatments are scheduled mid-morning, when your body is most receptive: perhaps a full-body aromatherapy massage, a hot stone treatment, or a calming facial. Afternoons are yours — read by the pool, walk through the gardens, or simply do nothing at all. An evening restorative yoga class and candlelit dinner close the day.

Relaxation vs Yoga or Detox Retreats

Our relaxation retreat sits apart from more structured programmes. While our yoga and detox retreats are designed around specific outcomes (deeper practice, physical cleansing), the relaxation retreat prioritises one thing: giving your nervous system the space to decompress. There is no agenda beyond your own comfort. If you want to add a yoga class, you can. If you want to spend the entire afternoon in a hammock, that is equally valid.

Cost and Duration Guide

Our relaxation retreats are available as three, five, or seven-night all-inclusive packages. Pricing includes accommodation, all meals (organic Mediterranean cuisine), daily spa treatments, access to yoga and meditation classes, and use of all wellness facilities. Three nights offer a weekend reset; five nights allow genuine decompression; seven nights are ideal for those recovering from sustained periods of stress or burnout.

How to Choose the Right Retreat

Choosing between our programmes comes down to what you need right now. If you want structure and physical challenge, consider our Pilates or weight loss retreats. If you are seeking emotional processing, our healing retreat is designed for that. If you simply need to stop, breathe, and remember what calm feels like — the relaxation retreat is for you. Still unsure? Our wellness team offers complimentary pre-arrival consultations to help match you with the right programme.

Relaxation Retreat FAQ

No. Unlike our more structured retreat programmes, the relaxation retreat is intentionally flexible. Yoga and meditation sessions are offered but entirely optional. Your time is yours.

Your programme includes a generous spa credit for treatments such as aromatherapy massage, hot stone therapy, facials, and body wraps. Our therapists will recommend a combination based on your preferences.

Very much so. Many couples choose the relaxation retreat to reconnect. We offer shared rooms, couples spa treatments, and the flexibility to do things together or apart.

Yes, additional treatments can be booked at our spa reception. We recommend booking early as slots fill up, especially during peak season.

The key difference is the holistic environment — organic cuisine, yoga and mindfulness options, no phones at the pool, and a wellness team available to support you. It is a spa experience embedded in a genuine retreat setting.
