Suffering from a bloated stomach? Feeling tired all of the time? Finding your toilet habits aren’t as regular or consistent as they used to be? A colon cleanse could be the answer to your problems. In this 7 day Detox Retreat you will be guided through daily self administered colonics along with a Health Check upon arrival and nutritional guidance from our onsite health experts. One week of consistent daily juices, broth, colonics, exercise, meditation and relaxation is the perfect way to bounce your body and mind back into shape.  

10 day Detox Retreat

As with anything, with consistency and time we reap the benefits. This 10 day Detox Retreat is for those who are feeling the long term side effects of a poor diet or unhealthy digestive tract. What is a Detox Retreat?

Detox is the program for those seeking wellness from the inside out. Our specially created cleanse regime can increase energy levels, balance hormones, improve digestion and help break cravings. Here are a few reasons why you might want to go for a detox retreat: 

  • Your digestion system is bloated, uncomfortable and irregular
  • You feel constantly tired, stressed or overwhelmed
  • Your immune system is low, and you often get sick which results in taking medication
  • Your skin breaks out or you feel tired looking
  • You wish to lose excess body weight.
  • You feel unmotivated, lethargic, depressed or lacking enthusiasm for life

How to Detox your body?

Firstly, when starting a body detox, you’ll first need to lighten up your toxin load. Eliminate alcohol, coffee, cigarettes, refined sugars and saturated fats, all of which act as toxins in the body and are obstacles to your healing process. 

Furthermore, another hindrance to good health is stress, which triggers your body to release stress hormones into your system. While these hormones can provide the “adrenaline rush” to win a race or meet a deadline, in large amounts they create toxins and slow down detoxification enzymes in the liver. Fortunately, yoga and meditation are simple and effective ways to relieve stress by resetting your physical and mental reactions to the inevitable stress life will bring.

What is a juice cleanse good for?

A juice cleanse can help reset your gut.  When you drink cold pressed, raw fruit and vegetable juice, you’re greatly reducing the amount of input and stress that your gut experiences.

Bloated? Irritated bowels? Sensitive stomach?Through our everyday life we are exposed to toxins. Toxic intake which is not excreted properly may cause bloating, gas, headaches, constipation, headaches, fatigue, nausea, skin problems, bad breath and bring your energy levels down. Our liver and kidney do quite a good job of filtering and eliminating most ingested toxins by drawing substances out of the bloodstream and processing them for the body to excrete as waste. A juice filled with vegetables and fruit broken down into an easily digestible form simply helps support our bodies function as they should.

Detox drinks and juice smoothies can be made with an endless variety of ingredients, but it’s generally best to include more vegetables than fruits to keep the natural sugars to a minimum. We suggest an 80:20 split. The fewer sweet ingredients you use, the less you’ll crave sugary fruits and vegetables, priming your palate for healthier foods and drinks. It’s a process!

We are all so busy in our everyday lives so being able to consume our recommended daily dose of vegetables and fruit can be cumbersome with lots of food prep and time required. When done correctly, a glass of juice can give you an easy and convenient way to achieve your daily nutritional needs.

If you are feeling completely lethargic, bloated and your skin is breaking out, then using juice as part of a periodic detox is also a great way to reset your body. According to Dr.Merrell, author of the book  ‘The Detox Prescription’, it’s also important to combine a holistic approach including light yoga practices, basic self-care, beginning meditation and sleep hygiene to reset body, mind and spirit.

The benefits of Juice fasting?

1. Healthier body

Fruits and vegetables are good for you, no one is going to argue with that. Nutritional specialists suggest we eat 2 cups of fruit and 2.5 cups of vegetables a day. When consumed at these levels a day we reduce the risk of stroke, cancer and heart disease. The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) notes that most of us aren’t getting enough fruit and vegetables. Just 1 in 10 adults meet the federal fruit and vegetables recommendations according to a CDC study.

Having a juice a day makes it so easy to incorporate these daily portions into our diet.

Studies have found a potential link between certain juices and health:

  • Kale juice may improve lipid levels, such as cholesterol, which affect your risk of heart disease.
  • Carrot juice may reduce oxidative stress in cells in women treated for breast cancer.
  • Citrus-based juices and carrot juice may reduce heart disease risk.

Over time, un-excreted waste can build up within your system and become a haven for dangerous bacteria. This causes symptoms like cramps, chronic fatigue, headaches, constipation and even allergic reactions. 

There are also times in your life where detoxing is either not beneficial or should be done under medical guidance. For example, when you are pregnant or breastfeeding and need to have enough nutrition to support another little person. Or, if you’re recovering from an illness and need to build your body up. Also, diabetics need to be careful of detoxing because they require a steady supply of energy. Lastly, if you have any illness or concerns with regards to detox, please contact us to discuss if it is right for you. Our onsite Nutritionist and local physician will be able to assist with any medical concerns.

On the day of your arrival! All Retreats are customised to start whenever you choose to begin your Wellness journey.

We recommend a full cleanse no more than 2 to 4 times a year. 

You will be on a juice and broth based diet. Our onsite Nutritionist and Fitness team will monitor your progress to ensure we achieve the best results in a healthy way.

Retreat prices are calculated based on the length of your stay, and are specified above in our inclusions table. Nightly prices include accommodation however may vary depending on the room selection and the number of people staying (single or double occupancy).

Audrey believes in a holistic approach to wellness where physical, mental and emotional wellbeing are all connected. She hopes through the practice of Yoga, guests discover the best version of themselves, to live a more peaceful and joyful life, and to find the grace and kindness to be better to others. Audrey's genuine and personable nature sparks a lot of inspiration and motivation in her classes.
