5 day Fitness Retreat

You will probably find after two days of more intensive exercise and movement you may start to feel some aches and pains. But with any new physical activity, by day three you will start to see new muscle definition in your stomach, legs and shoulders, as well as improved flexibility. A 5 day Retreat is the perfect amount of time to further strengthen your movements and routine. It won’t just be your body that you notice improving. With a combination of regular yoga, relaxation, nutritious food and sunshine, our guests start to look and feel better with improved skin, brighter eyes and relaxed bodies. Most importantly, feeling happier. 

7 day Fitness Retreat

For those who are serious about establishing good fitness routines and seeing results, we recommend a 7 day Fitness Retreat to allow your body to adjust and build strength..This time allows the body to adapt to the stress associated with exercise, to replenish muscle glycogen (energy stores) and provide time for the body tissue to repair. Our Personal Trainers will create the ideal program of exercise to condition your entire body. We usually find our clients leave us completely energised and motivated to continue their fitness journey after our guided 7 day program. 

10 day Fitness Retreat

As with anything, with consistency and time we reap the benefits of our hard work. This 10 day Fitness Retreat is for those who are looking to really step up their fitness levels. You may be taken outside of your comfort zone and pushed to whole new levels, to reach the health and fitness goals you want to achieve. The benefit of a 10 day program allows you the time and support to reach these goals. When you’re in such a peaceful environment and are following a planned schedule, you won’t be in your usual routine. By doing so, this will give you the chance to break your old habits and instead for new ones. Consistency and support is the key! 

What is a fitness retreat

If you are just starting out with an exercise program or you aren’t seeing results with your current routine, then going on a Fitness Retreat is a great way to dedicate time and focus on your health. Today’s Fitness Retreats are the place to go to focus on your general wellbeing and to get results that you aren’t achieving in the gym. You are taken away from the distractions of everyday life where there’s no excuse not to exercise and make a change. At the beginning of your Fitness Retreat, our Wellness Experts will discuss your goals and undergo a preliminary health check.

You can finally feel confident to enter a gym knowing how to handle the equipment and weights, and be armed with the knowledge to choose the best exercises for your body and mind.

At the end of the day, it’s still a holiday so there is plenty of time to relax and enjoy new activities as well as indulge in meditation and spa treatments.

Fitness holiday, what to expect

At a Retreat it’s unrealistic to expect you will lose 10 kilos and walk out with a 6 pack. But you will be able to build on your fitness levels and knowledge alongside like minded individuals, trainers and coaches, where no one is ‘too unfit’ or asks ‘silly’ questions.

A personalised program will be created and Personal Training sessions in the gym are interspersed with holistic activities such as Yoga, Meditation, Hikes and spa treatments. This will give you the perfect balance of intensity and relaxation. 

Nutrition is an important aspect to your overall wellness, so our Restaurant will provide a balanced menu to complement your work out regime, whilst an onsite Nutritionist will discuss how to implement these changes in your daily life. At a health retreat, you receive 1:1 Nutritional Coaching which will:

  • Explain nutrition and what it can do for the client
  • Assess clients’ health needs and diet
  • Develop meal plans, taking both cost and clients’ preferences into account
  • Evaluate the effects of meal plans and change the plans as needed
  • Promote better nutrition by discussing your diet, nutrition and the relationship between good eating habits and your general lifestyle.

What does NHS say about fitness

To stay healthy, the UK Chief Medical Officers’ Physical Activity Guidelines, on GOV.UK, state that adults should try to be active every day and aim to do at least 150 minutes of physical activity over a week, through a variety of activities. Keeping active in any way is a form of moderate exercise, such as walking and cycling. 

An activity where you have to work even harder is called vigorous intensity activity. There is substantial evidence that vigorous activity can bring health benefits over and above that of moderate activity. This would include playing sports, going to the gym or with anything where your heart rate is increased and you become out of breath. 

The NHS has noted concerns that people are less active nowadays, partly because technology has made our lives easier. We drive cars or take public transport. We entertain ourselves in front of a TV or computer screen. Fewer people are doing manual work, and most of us have jobs that involve little physical effort. We move around less and burn off less energy than people used to. Research suggests that many adults spend more than 7 hours a day sitting down, at work, on transport or in their leisure time. Therefore it is more important than ever to be mindful of the importance of exercise and our fitness for our long term health.

How long should a workout last

As a general goal, aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity every day. If you want to lose weight, maintain weight loss or meet specific fitness goals, you may need to exercise more. Reducing sitting time is important, too. The more hours you sit each day, the higher your risk of metabolic problems.

For fitness and weight loss, a workout can last 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 90 minutes, or even two hours. On average, it’s probably going to take somewhere between 45 and 90 minutes.It all depends on a number of factors, including:

  • What your goals are
  • How often you’re training
  • The type of training you’re doing
  • The amount of stimulation your muscles need to grow

This is not a boot camp, so our Retreats start on the day of your arrival! 

The Personal Training sessions will mostly be in a small group, however our fitness instructors will tailor it to meet your specific level and goals. Where more personalised attention is required, then 1:1 sessions can be organised. 

Not at all! The whole aim is to help guests deal with weight, raise their self confidence and self image, as well as teach them healthy life skills and choices. Many of our guests are either new to fitness, have injury concerns or are in the 40+ age group- whatever your situation we have the knowledge and expertise to help you safely and quickly increase strength, improve mobility, shed fat and get you feeling more energetic. 

Retreat prices are calculated based on the length of your stay, and are specified above in our inclusions table. Nightly prices include accommodation however may vary depending on the room selection and the number of people staying (single or double occupancy).
