With guest speaker, Insomnia Specialist Kathryn Pinkham, this retreat focuses on helping you understand why you may feel stuck in a cycle of poor sleep and what is actually driving it. Rather than focusing on surface-level advice around caffeine or relaxation alone, you’ll learn how to reset your body clock, reduce night-time wakefulness and improve overall sleep quality.

With a small group of like-minded guests (maximum 13), this retreat offers a supportive and focused environment to begin breaking unhelpful sleep patterns and rebuilding confidence in your sleep.

The Insomnia Clinic founder Kathryn Pinkham is a UK-based sleep specialist who focuses on helping people overcome insomnia and long-term sleep difficulties through non-medication approaches. She is best known for using evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), which addresses the thoughts, habits, and behaviours that can disrupt healthy sleep patterns. Her work is centred on helping individuals rebuild confidence around sleep, reduce anxiety at bedtime, and develop sustainable routines that support deeper, more restorative rest and overall wellbeing.

This retreat is designed for individuals experiencing common sleep difficulties such as insomnia, night waking or poor sleep quality. It may not be suitable for those with more complex sleep or mental health conditions. This includes individuals with severe mental health conditions (such as severe depression, PTSD or bipolar disorder), untreated sleep disorders such as narcolepsy or sleep apnoea (unless accompanied by insomnia symptoms). If you are unsure, please get in touch to discuss your individual circumstances before booking.

Kathryn will review your sleep assessment and guide you through two personalised workshops, alongside Q&A sessions, providing tailored advice based on your individual sleep patterns and challenges.

During the program you will learn:

  • Why sleep problems develop and persist

  • Common patterns such as difficulty falling asleep or waking at 3am

  • The role of stress, hormones and an overactive mind

  • Practical, evidence-based techniques to improve sleep

  • A personalised sleep plan for you to follow.

Sleep isn’t one-size-fits-all, and many people struggle despite doing all the “right” things. This retreat is designed to help you move beyond generic advice and develop a personalised, practical approach to improving your sleep.

The retreat runs from Monday 27 January to Friday 31 January 2027 (4 nights, 5 days). This is a fixed-date event and cannot be attended on alternative dates.

The retreat is limited to 12 participants to ensure a personalised, intimate experience. We recommend booking early as places are expected to fill quickly.

Yes. Unlike our standard retreats, the Deep Sleep Retreat price includes 4 nights' accommodation. You can choose between Classic Room, Superior Room, or Suite.

Yes. Guests are welcome to extend their stay before or after the retreat dates at standard retreat rates. Contact our reservations team to arrange an extended booking.

Shanti-Som is located in the village of Monda, in the mountains above Marbella on the Costa del Sol. The nearest airport is Málaga-Costa del Sol (AGP), approximately 45 minutes by car.

We can arrange private airport transfers for your convenience. The retreat is also accessible from Gibraltar airport (1 hour) and Seville airport (2.5 hours).

Guests arriving by car will find free private parking on-site. The mountain location provides the perfect escape from the busy coast while remaining easily accessible.

Reservations can be cancelled free of charge up to 14 days before arrival. Cancellations within 14 days incur a charge of one night's stay. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for full details.
